Sawtooth Rifles SitRep
This may come as a surprise to some, but Sawtooth Rifles has been and remains a one man show. I have been hit with a health challenge so this post will be used to keep things up to date with Sawtooth Rifles' status as well as keep friends and customers informed on my health as things develop to stay ahead of any rumors. Please use the links below to learn about my lead up to a brain cancer diagnosis and treatment plan.
Mid-January 2026 UPDATE
December brought me a chance to surgically remove part of the brain tumor, something that originally wasn't an option. Surgery was quickly scheduled and now that it is over, I can say it turned out to not be so much to worry about. I walked out of the hospital after the second night and went and ate a bacon cheesburger. January has me busy with a treatment plan involving chemo and radiation for the rest of January and February. To keep things fair for customers and reduce the workload, website orders will be temporarily halted with those website functions disabled until I am at a steady state and I am able to achieve a balance between production and sales.
March 2026 UPDATE
January and February were busy with the first phase of my treatment plan of chemo and radiation. I handled these treatments well and am feeling good. I now get a break for a few weeks to let my body reset and then will start a second phase of chemotherapy as well as some other treatments in a clinical trial for 6 months. To keep things fair for customers and reduce the workload, website orders will be temporarily halted as needed with those website functions disabled until I am at a steady state and I am able to achieve a balance between production and sales.
April 2026 UPDATE
March was busy with the family and processing orders. Thanks to all the customers! I am now starting the second phase of my treatment plan with 6 months of chemo and two more treatments in a clinical trial. I handled the first part of the treatments well and am still feeling good. The new treatments bring unknowns to my daily routines and capacity to get things done in the shop. To keep things fair for customers and reduce the workload, website orders will be temporarily halted as needed (tentatively until April 21) with those website functions disabled.
A March brain scan MRI report brought hopeful news. Things look stable! I am not cured or in remission like you hear about with other cancers, but stable in the world of glioblastoma is the good stuff.
Expectations and potential changes at Sawtooth Rifles
I am hopeful that i can get back to work and productive to get sawtooth back on track. Realistically the efficiency of Sawtooth Rifles will take a hit. The Dependabilt product line will be the priority once th emachines are working again. New barrel work or rifle builds will not be accepted any time soon. Moving forward, it may take some time to respond to emails and calls on occasion. Please be patient. If you reach out and don't get a reply, please try again after some time.
After turning the website and order functions back on, I hope to be able to maintain the quick to ship order processing of in stock products that most customers have experienced and enjoyed. Shipments will likely trend from same day to being processed in the next day or two. The timing of daily pickups just makes it difficult to get orders out the same day without taking the time to drive orders to town, something I can no longer do. I'll update this as things develop.
